The Weekly Bump

{39 Weeks}
We officially have only days left!
I have never been this pregnant before.
I sort of feel like this baby is never coming out.
Other than driving myself crazy thinking anyday could be the day, I'm still feeling pretty good.
I'm having contractions all the time, but nothing stays consistant.
I'm actually sleeping really well lately which is such a blessing!
Harlo's actually been sleeping in lately so we're usually in bed til 9:30 or 10.. love her!
Some days I want to cry every second that I'm still pregnant,
Some days I love it and am sad it's almost over..
Some days I want to just schedule the induction and throw my natural plan out the window.
Mostly I'm just trying to soak up all the time alone I have with Harlo.
I was watching a birth video the other day and Harlo woke up. She was all interested in the moms with "Baby Lella's" (pregnant bellies) so I decided to go ahead and let her watch. She was so cute, didn't seem the slightest bit worried about the baby coming out she just said "oh! Baby! oh! Baby!!" so excited. I had to remind myself she doesn't know that hurts or doesn't have all that fear instilled in her yet. I was glad she did so well and I hope it made the whole thing make a little more sense about how "Baby Lella" is actually coming out of my belly soon. Hard to explain those things to a 19 month old, but I think she gets it as much as any young child would.
I get about 20 calls a day from people saying "have you had your baby yet??"
Those are always fun calls. :)
It's funny that Harlo came 2 1/2 weeks early and now this baby is looking like she's going to go over!
I've been trying to think of fun things to do everyday,
but really nothing sounds more fun than having a baby at this point.
Wish me luck for the next 5 (or more) days.
Really hoping this is my last "Weekly Bump" post :)

Baby Nursery

I still have just a few things to get done in here like stuff on the shelves, a rug, different curtains will be hung but for the most part.. the nursery is finished :) The clothes are all washed and tucked nicely into the drawers, the blankets are folded, the diapers are stacked to perfection... we are ready for this baby! Too bad she's not quite ready for us. I think she's scared of the 115 degree weather. I would be too! I would probably choose a temperature-regulated, squishy water bed to be carried around in all day too! This girl is smart.

This is Harlo's favorite part of the entire room. She LOVES the baby's room, she always wants to play in here. When we hung the bird mobile, it was just madness! She is obsessed. Right when she wakes up in the morning she'll say "teet-teet!" and rushes in to see the birdies. We are swiftly making one for her room as well!

Birthday Festivities

To celebrate B's birthday, we went to dinner at his (well it's really Harlo's) favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse.
Harlo seriously loves this place! She just dances and eats the whole time.
And these lovely people joined us:
Gran's birthday is the day after Brady's, so we were able to do a little double celebration.. nice!
(Notice Harlo and Gran both have the exact same expression on their face after their fist pump)
Harlo was in a good mood for Daddy's special day :)
Then we went and stopped by Sweet Tooth Fairy to get some birthday cupcakes (because one special mama didn't plan ahead and bake a cake :/ oops!)
Apparently I was more excited about the cupcakes than anyone else.. but I am 9 months pregnant, so that's okay.. right?
Harlo was pretty excited about sneaking bites of everyone's though :)
What a cute little birthday boy!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to one very special daddy...
(One who spends his birthday putting a dresser together for his new baby girl)
With help, of course!

To a daddy who even lets Harlo use his foot as a very fancy seat!

Us Miller girls have become very, very fond of this guy. Here are a few reasons we just can't get enough of Mr. Miller:

  1. He is very handsome! (let's get the obvious ones over with)
  2. He is extremely smart, if you're having troubles with anything that plugs in (and some things that dont) Brady is your guy!
  3. He is handy around the house! (note above pictures)
  4. He is the best garbage-taker-outer and gas-filler-upper around. (and almost never has be be asked twice to do it!)
  5. He can hear a computer from a mile away. Seriously.
  6. He can't sleep if a computer is on in the house because "it keeps him up all night!"
  7. He really likes baby girls and all the accessories that come with.
  8. He takes a picture of the sunset almost every night.
  9. He loves rainy days.
  10. His favorite time of year is "when the fireworks tents are around town"
  11. He always has to know how something works, if he doesn't know.. he'll find out!
  12. He is very cautious.
  13. He hardly gets bothered by anything.
  14. He enjoys my "pregnant lady lumps" (and I'll be honest.. there's lots of lumps to love ;)
  15. His favorite drink is coke, but sometimes for some reason he gets Mountain Dew at work.
  16. He is very patient.. most of the time.
  17. He always drives no matter what, even if I'm already in the driver side and we're just running to grab a coke.
  18. He is a very fabulous (and honest!) business owner and loves what he does.
  19. He's not your typical romantic, but he IS romantic in a different way.. like he makes me a bowl of captain crunch every single night and brings it to me in bed. He even takes my bowl back to the kitchen!
  20. You wouldn't think of him as "the class clown" but he busts out some of the funniest one-liners ever.
  21. He gets Harlo out of her crib every morning and makes her breakfast.
  22. His favorite person to hang out with is Harlo. Hands down.
  23. He loves going golfing, but hardly ever goes. What a little angel!
  24. Whenever he feels our baby move he always wants to know exactly what she's doing. (like I know?)
  25. He is very picky about what he wears. Like, ridiculously picky.
  26. He loves bubble gum ice cream with gummy bears.
  27. He loves the beach.
  28. He loves thunder and lightening. He's SO fascinated by it.
  29. He likes to look up the radars and predict the weather. Makes his day when the weather man is wrong and he was right. :)
  30. His favorite dinner I make is Shepherds Pie.
  31. His favorite thing his mama makes is french toast.
  32. He eats McDonalds breakfast way too much.
  33. He loves his iPhone, but he's secretly ashamed because he hates Apple.
  34. Whenever I have a contraction (now in the 38th week of my pregnancy) he gets a panicked look on his face. It's almost like he didn't realize this baby is actually going to come out some day.
  35. If he forgets his wedding ring on the counter he will drive all the way back home just to get it, or if I'm home he'll call me to see if I can bring it to him. Isn't that cute?
  36. He enjoys the simple things in life which I just love about him.
  37. From day one he has gotten up in the night with Harlo with me. Even while I was nursing, he would at least get up and get her and take her back to bed.
  38. He makes the best breakfast burritos in the universe!
  39. He is the hardest person in the world to stay mad at. Believe me. I've tried!
  40. He tells everyone and their damn dog that we've having a home birth.
  41. It is the cutest/funniest thing ever to hear Brady explain home birth to his buddies. haha
  42. He has never missed a doctors appointment for Harlo.
  43. He goes grocery shopping with me every single time. I literally have never been alone.
  44. He's never missed a birthing class and only missed a FEW midwives appointments, but usually it's to watch Harlo while I'm gone.
  45. He gives Harlo a tubby every night.
  46. Hall & Oats, Prince or Sadé is probably his favorite music of all time. Seriously.
  47. He makes a mean batch of Ramen Noodles.
  48. He loves watching Bravo shows with me, although he would probably never admit it.
  49. He is the very best Daddy in the whole world. My girls are so lucky!
  50. He is the very best husband in the whole world. I can honestly not imagine spending my life with any other man.

Love you, Babe. Happy 26th!

Harlo Tidbits

Love These Faces:
Her "what?" face:

Her little "sassy" face:

Where's your "Fishy Face?":

Then she spotted her blanky and in 0.2 seconds flat, she assumed the "blanky position"

I love this little diva of mine.
Some days I feel like she's getting nicer.. other days I feel like she's getting sassier.
She will throw herself on the floor in a fit of rage.
She is such a dancer.
We just set up our bassinet and it has a button you can push to play classical music.. Harlo will push that button and drops it like it's hot!
She knows exactly what music she likes, if there's a song playing she isn't crazy about, she'll immediately say "no." and wave her finger for me to change the radio station.
She loves purses.
She loves saying "buh-buh-bye" to everyone.
Even if there's no one to say "buh-buh-bye" to, she'll still say it to the office or the house.
All the time at random times of the day she'll say "hi mama!" and "hi dad."
She found a new fun game: Luring Itty into her house, locking the door, and dragging the kennel around the kitchen floor. =) Fun for Harlo.. not so much for Itty. Itty's such a trooper.
Whenever Brady or I are on our phones, Harlo will put her hand up to her ear to take her own phone call.
If I ask her who Brady is she'll say "Brady-Daddy?" but if I ask her who Cassidy is she'll look at me with a total confused look.
She is such a sweet little love bug.
She gives kisses out like candy and she is so snuggly.
I don't think our new baby will go without lovies.

The Weekly Bump

{almost 37 Weeks}
(Thought this was a good picture for the week since this is what every shirt in my closet looks like on me. Gotta love the sundress!)
Alllmost done.
I'm having contractions like crazy, nothing too consistant.
We had a little scare last night, but turned out just to be a good reminder to get our stuff done!
We've still got finishing touches on the nursery to do,
wall hangings and things like that, but all the big stuff is done and put up.
I'm actually doing all her laundry today.
love it!
I need Brady to help me with stuff this weekend, so hopefully he wasn't hoping to relax much :)
I need to deep-clean my house.
I've been putting it off because I want it to be freshly done for when the baby arrives,
maybe that will put me into labor this weekend.
I am getting more anxious to meet our little girl,
but I'm still really content being pregnant.
and I'm eating up all the time I have with Harlo as my one and only.
I opted not to get checked last week at my appointment,
but the week before I was at a 2.
We also did maternity pictures this last week, so excited to see how they turned out.
And now Harlo is yelling for me from her crib, just woke up from her nap.
Love that little lady!

Harlo Tidbits

This girl sure loves her Auntie. She is obsessed with Ali's car. Everytime she sees it, she immediately starts saying "go?" and heading for the door.

If Harlo had to choose between Auntie or Mommy... Sorry Mommy, Auntie.
She is such a chatter-box these days.
She is constantly telling us stories, full of drama and hand motions for emphasis!
She loves to read books.
She loves to read books by herself.
She usually flips through the pages 'reading', "Daddy, book. Mommy, book. Kitty, book..."
Her favorite seat in the house is the carseat. The baby's carseat.
If she ever gets stuck, a shoe, a finger, a hand she'll say "owie!"
Even if she is not really stuck, like she purposely put her hand in the VCR and can easily pull it out.
She loves buckling herself in the car. "buckle?" as soon as we get in and "buckle?" as soon as the car stops.
She loves walking by herself to the car, and is so proud when she finds the right door to get in.
She loves my boss, "Uncle Wichie" (Richard)
I just bought her a fabulous pair of sunglasses and she insists on wearing them all the time. As soon as we're getting ready to leave the house, "Glassie?" and comes to me so I can put them on her face.
She loves to sing. She is constantly singing her own little tunes with her own little words. Love!
She seems to understand the whole "baby sister" situation really well.
Of course, I'm not sure how much it all makes sense in her own little mind, but any baby thing we see, strollers, highchairs, clothes, an ultrasound picture, a newborn, my belly... she asks if it's for our baby.
She is a dancing queen! She has the best dance moves ever... whether she's in her carseat or on her feet, she's a dancin' machine and she's got style!
She is just getting so big.
The thought of her being a baby sister in a few short weeks makes me cry.
How did she get so big???
She was my baby 5 minutes ago.

Independence Day

We had a fabulous 4th (well 3rd... we live in Utah.. can't have it all!) We spent our morning at the park, had a nice relaxing afternoon with the family and finished it off with a delicious BBQ and some fireworks.
{Me and my girls.. yes that's an A1 stain on my larger-than-life belly}

These pictures completely sum up Harlo's relationship with the fireworks:
{All taken one right after the other... she was not so sure!}
when they were done, she would cheer...

...And then the panic would set in.
Overall, we had a fabulous day. She didn't quite make it for the city fireworks, 10:00 is a little late for her normally 8:00 bedtime, but she got SO close. Better luck next year, I guess.
Brady and I, however, snuggled up on our back porch swing and watched them from there. Love this house.
