Harlo Tidbits

Yesterday I pulled in the driveway from doing an engagement session to find a cute daddy blowing bubbles for a cute little girl. The whole scene just melted me.

  • I was just telling my sister yesterday that I felt like Harlo grew up this week! All the sudden she can do and say all these things that she never did before. She is so fun, and so silly. More of her personality shows through every single day. Her sense of humor has definitely taken a huge leap lately.
  • She is talking in sentences now. (or her version of a sentence) Instead of just saying "dada!" she'll say "mommy, I uuhhnt dada" and when she wants a drink she'll say "mommy, I drink it?" if Itty is chewing on a toy she'll say "Itty eat it?"
  • She uses peoples names all the time, and thinks it's really neat! If she knows your name, she'll use it as many times as possible! Everything she says to me starts in "mommy..." (Showing me her babies, rather than just holding it up or saying "baby" she'll say "mommy, baby?")
  • She's starting to tease us and laugh at her cartoons. Jungle Junction is her favorite right now and when they sing their "spin our wheels" song, she giggles every single time.
  • She is now big into dancing and dances everytime any sort of beat gets played.
  • She is NOT friendly to strangers, but it doesn't take her too long to warm up. Once she's warmed up she'll cry when a new friend leaves and demands kisses and lovins every few minutes.

St. Patty's day festival

Last weekend was a busy one! On Friday morning Ali, Harlo and I headed up to SLC for my cousin, Scotty's wedding. We were only there for the night, and on Saturday morning we headed home in time for the St. Patrick's day festival in Springdale. It was so fun, I'm glad we decided to come home for it. Definitely a new family tradition. It was such a nice day, and Harlo had a blast!

Harlo danced the day away with Papa. Don't these two make the cutest duo?
And you better believe we didn't forget Willow!

Ali and Harlo had almost matching shirts! love when that happens!!

Ironically, Ali matched my daughter, and I matched hers ;)
"Glankey!!"

20 Weeks Update

{20 Weeks}
cute little face, hand under chin
Profile
Girly Girl!
We had an appointment today and our full anatomy ultrasound. The baby looks perfect! She did a full summersault while we were in there. Just a wiggly little girl. All her measurements were right on, they got a great picture of her heart and could see all the chambers. They got a good picture of her brain, stomach, kidneys... they measured her little leggies and armies. Everything looks amazing! She's estimated to be about 11 oz in weight right now. Her little pictures are so cute, they don't look really anything like Harlo's ultrasound pictures, so it will be interesting to see if they look alike once she's out. I can't get over how lucky I am to have 2 healthy girls. We can't wait for our little lady to arrive!
I still can't believe I'm already half way down with this pregnancy. It has just flown by! It seems to be a lot easier this time than last, and hopefully it stays going this way. :) I've been feeling great, the baby girl is a mover and a shaker!! She's getting stronger and stronger, Brady has been able to feel her since about 18 weeks and she just keeps getting more active. A few nights ago I was rocking Harlo and we were belly to belly, the baby kept kicking really hard and it was kicking Harlo's belly. Harlo started wiggling and flinching and looking at me with a puzzled look. She doesn't understand it's the baby moving, but it's definitely fun to know she can feel her.

Harlo Tidbits

This busy toddler of mine (is she a toddler if she's not walking yet?) is so, SO cute. She is also so, SO busy. The cute part makes it easy to take pictures of her every second, the busy part makes it hard... I have to sing songs, make Mow (our cat) sit on my lap, ask her questions all to help her sit still for 5 seconds, so here are pictures that really sum up the story of our daily lives:
"help me, help me, help me!" he said

Or that hunter will shoot me dead!
Come little rabbit, come with me, happy we will always be!
Toss it in the oven for Harlo and me!
Stop for a bit to admire Mow through the window...
"Where's your belly?"
Where's your hair?
Harlo is OBSESSED with my belly these days, which I can't get enough of. She thinks the baby is actually in my belly button and insists on seeing it if ever a baby or belly is mentioned, which is fine at home, but not so funny when she's lifting my shirt everywhere we go.
She's getting more picky about foods, and somedays she hardly eats anything.. other days she eats more than me and B put together, which I hear is normal at this age. Her favorites right now are blueberries and "cracky's" and tomatoes. And she HATES peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches.
She'll pick up everything on the floor and bring it to me and say "thank you!" as she's handing it over.
If she puts something in her mouth (mostly coins she finds in daddy's drawer) she'll immediately crawl to me and make a "kkkkeh!" sound so I can get it out, which is nice, but I just wish we could skip the step of putting it in the mouth!
She drinks from a cup with a straw WAY better than a sippy, except at nap and bedtime.

She still loves the tubby and when it's time to get out she scolds me and Brady with a stern "no! no! no!" shaking her finger at us.

She is so snuggly in the mornings these days, which is so fun. As soon as she gets up and Brady brings her in she says "hi mama!" then she says "Baby?" with her hands in the air like "where is she?" Then she must give the baby her first kisses of the day.

She got another tooth last weekend which brings the grand total to 7, and I believe she's getting another 1 or 2 right now as well.

Happy Birthday

For my birthday this year we had to head up to Salt Lake to go to my grandma's funeral, which was a total bummer. So after we got home and settled I made some dinner and Ali brought some cupcakes to make me feel like I actually had a birthday this year.. and after all.. it was my 21st!
Harlo was more excited about the cupcakes than she was about it being mommy's birthday...

But she was still my best birthday companion! This girl knows how to PaRtY!
Thanks to everyone for making my birthday special, even with the special circumstances... kisses to you all!
